Barbara Allen holds a PhD in Public Policy and has been teaching and writing about public procurement for over 20 years. She teaches the Masters course, Procurement, Contracting and Collaboration within the professional Masters of Public Policy and Masters of Public Management. Barbara has been a military officer in logistics, run a small consulting business and contributed research on procurement to numerous organizations such as the OECD, vaccine producer Sanofi Pasteur, and the New Zealand Office of the Auditor General. Barbara is passionate about raising the profile of public procurement given its importance in the work of government. She is also keen on bringing digital learning and technology to pedagogy. Barbara has a son with both autism and epilepsy and thus is interested in contracting relationships between the public sector and external providers who support those with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
